How we work

A defined scope.
A clear process.

Conduct of the work

From the first review
to following the file.

The scope of legal work is determined in light of the information obtained in the preliminary review and the nature of the matter. The same sequence of steps or the same remedy may not apply to every file.

Acceptance of the work, authority to represent, fees and expenses are addressed separately. First contact or sharing documents does not by itself mean that a matter has been taken on.

  1. The first stage identifies the subject of the dispute, the parties, the available documents and any time-sensitive steps. It is also assessed whether anything prevents the matter from being taken on.

    Preliminary review

    1 / 4 — Preliminary review

  2. The facts and documents are examined together with the relevant regulations. Available remedies, possible legal risks and any need for further information are addressed.

    Legal assessment

    2 / 4 — Legal assessment

  3. The work to be carried out, the authority, the fee and the expense framework are determined. The necessary documents and steps are organised within this scope.

    Scope and preparation

    3 / 4 — Scope and preparation

  4. Steps are taken in the order the file requires. Significant developments and matters requiring a decision are shared; new information and documents are taken into account.

Preparation

The information
behind the assessment.

  • A short chronological summary of events
  • The parties involved and the legal relationship between them
  • Contracts, correspondence and official documents
  • Notifications and known procedural dates
  • Any previous applications and file details

It is important to keep original documents safe, to make sure files are legible and not to share personal data unrelated to the matter.

Procedural matters

Scope, fees and authority.

Does sending a document mean the matter has been taken on?

Sending a document or making first contact does not by itself mean that legal representation has been accepted. The scope of the work, its acceptance, the fee and, where necessary, the authority to represent are determined separately.

Is a power of attorney needed before the first meeting?

A first meeting and the authority to act in a particular step are different things. Whether a power of attorney is needed, and what it should contain, depends on the step to be taken. Some steps may require special authority.

How are legal fees and expenses handled?

Fees are determined according to the nature and scope of the work, within the framework of the relevant legislation and the Minimum Attorneyship Fee Tariff in force. Expenses such as court fees, service costs and expert fees are considered separately.

Working framework

Every matter,
on its own terms.

Legal assessment takes the specific facts, the relevant documents and the regulations in force into account together.
