Frequently asked questions

Key explanations
about the process.

Meetings and working method

These answers are general in nature. Assessing a specific matter requires examining the facts and documents.

What information should be prepared for a first meeting?

A short chronological summary of events, details of the parties involved and the available documents make the assessment easier. Any dates for service, hearings or other steps should also be indicated.

Does sending a document mean the matter has been taken on?

Sending a document or making first contact does not by itself mean that legal representation has been accepted. The scope of the work, its acceptance, the fee and, where necessary, the authority to represent are determined separately.

Is a power of attorney needed before the first meeting?

A first meeting and the authority to act in a particular step are different things. Whether a power of attorney is needed, and what it should contain, depends on the step to be taken. Some steps may require special authority.

How are legal fees and expenses handled?

Fees are determined according to the nature and scope of the work, within the framework of the relevant legislation and the Minimum Attorneyship Fee Tariff in force. Expenses such as court fees, service costs and expert fees are considered separately.

Is mediation mandatory in every dispute?

No. In some disputes, applying to a mediator before filing a lawsuit is a precondition for bringing the case. The scope and exceptions are examined according to the nature of the dispute and the claim.

Can the duration or outcome of a case be stated with certainty in advance?

The course of proceedings depends on the features of the dispute, the evidence, procedural steps and the assessment of the courts. No firm commitment can be given as to duration or outcome.

How are shared information and documents handled?

Information obtained in the course of professional work is handled in accordance with the duty of confidentiality and the rules on the protection of personal data. Only the information needed to assess the matter should be shared.

Are the explanations on this site sufficient for a specific case?

The content on this site is for general information. The rules and remedies applicable to a specific case cannot be determined without examining the documents, dates and other circumstances.
